Direct Support Professional — This Is Work That Matters

Most job postings say the same things. We won't.

This is real work with real people. You'll be supporting adults with developmental disabilities in their daily lives — helping with personal care, meal preparation, medication reminders, community activities — building the kind of relationships that take time to develop. You'll work alongside a consistent team. You'll learn who people are, what they like, what makes them laugh, and what they're working toward.

Some days are quiet. Some days are hard. That's what happens when you're working with people, not tasks.

Here's what this job actually involves:

  • Supporting individuals with daily routines, personal care, and community participation
  • Taking people to appointments, social activities, work, and wherever their lives lead
  • Working alongside a consistent team
  • Learning multiple individuals' needs, preferences, and communication styles — not just one house or one person
  • Documentation that matters: DODD, Medicaid, and ISP records
  • Rotating coverage including weekends, evenings, and some holidays
  • Training across multiple clients and homes

This position is a good fit if:

  • You want to build real relationships with the people you support
  • You're comfortable with hands-on personal care and supporting people with varying abilities
  • You think of this work as a career, not a temp job
  • You have a valid driver's license and are comfortable transporting individuals in the community
  • You can handle honest conversations — with colleagues, with supervisors, and about the people you serve
  • You're looking for work that has meaning, not just a paycheck
  • You're willing to learn and adapt — we provide training, and we invest in people who want to grow

This may not be the right fit if:

  • You need a strictly Monday–Friday, 9-to-5 schedule
  • You're primarily motivated by pay alone
  • You prefer to do the same exact thing every day without variation
  • You're not comfortable working with people of varying abilities, including behavioral support needs
  • You haven't worked in disability services before and aren't open to learning

What we offer:

  • Competitive pay: $17-19/hour based on experience
  • Career pathway — this is a job with a future, not a dead end
  • Paid training: CPR, first aid, DD-specific orientation
  • A consistent team and a mission you'll actually believe in
  • A provider that knows you by name
